From gabifresh's blog...
I love this. Love, love, love it. This is for those of you that are like me - Big Girls who like to dress up and be cute and take care of ourselves and present ourselves well and get discouraged because we aren't sure why this bothers other people, aren't sure why others automatically expect us to feel bad about ourselves and not like the way we look, aren't sure why we are expected to continually strive to turn our bodies into something else, something that it isn't. I wish I always had this kind of courage. I have it sometimes, in spurts, but I want this all day long.
I <3 me. At the very least, I'm going to try harder to make this true, all day, every day. Join me, won't you?

Snow Day, Schmow Day
I know that, like me, most of you love a "snow day". School or work - or sometimes both (in my case, same difference) - are canceled, and you find yourself marooned on the desert island that is your home. Which is awesome.
Like me, you probably find yourself excited at the possibility of all the things you will accomplish on a snow day. Since I don't have kids and am currently without an "other half" (and boy, is that term a slippery slope), I have a little more freedom than most to dream up my list of cleaning out closets, reorganizing kitchen cabinets, and conquering mountains of laundry.
But do I do any of these things? No, I don't. "Why?" you ask? The answer is simple.
Netflix.
Netflix is responsible for keeping me from getting anything productive done for the last two and a half days. Now sure, I could accept the responsibility myself considering Netflix did not enter into kahootz (am I spelling that correctly? probably not) with my laptop and hold me down and force me to watch season 6 of Grey's Anatomy in its entirety, but whose side are you on? Don't judge me.
How many of you see snow days as an opportunity to overachieve, and how many of you see it as a completely free day, free of obligation and expectation? I think you can guess which side of the fence I've fallen on. I've been using these snow days as a chance to catch up on sleep, give my actual non-pajama clothing a rest, and let my brain wander about unattended and without true purpose like a small child at an amusement park - with a vague notion that it should be enjoying itself, but at the same time so overwhelmed that it just stands there slack-jawed and overstimulated. You mean I can do this? Or that over there? Or I can ride this? Or I can go over to that booth and eat some of that? What should I do first?? Which do I want more?? I can't decide!!
And because I can't decide, I zone out on my bed, watching 9 hours of Meredith and Derek and Christina and Izzy and Bailey and the Chief. Especially Christina. I think we could be friends, if she actually existed. I feel like we're actually pretty tight now that I've watched her navigate through a year's worth of issues in the last two days.
Snow days: friend or foe?

Abandonment Issues
Why, you ask, would I start a blog and then abandon it? Here are a few theories:
1. I’m really mean.
2. I’m in the throes of an existential crisis.
3. There hasn’t been anything incredibly interesting going on with me lately (Hint: This is the correct answer).
4. I’ve been too busy working and getting ready for Christmas.
5. I’ve been too busy traveling the world.
6. I’ve been too busy saving orphans.
Which of these could it be?
Sorry, blog. I’ll try to be more attentive in the future.

Here we go...
I'm finally doing it. Finally starting a blog. I've been thinking of doing it for a while now and I'm taking the leap, inspired my many friends including Reeve, Lisa, Allison, Tori, and other who have chosen to share their lives and thoughts. I don't think mine will be as interesting as theirs (which, you ask, their lives or their thoughts? either, I suspect), but we'll give it a go regardless.
